Antigua and Barbuda’s successful three-day Showcase Antigua Barbuda hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) concluded on Friday.

Opening Gala at Sandals Grande Antigua

Showcase Antigua Barbuda brought together major tour operators from the Caribbean, Latin America, North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United Arab Emirates for a chance to network, meet with Antigua and Barbuda’s leading tourism and hospitality businesses, and experience the destination’s offerings.

During the opening gala at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa tourismΒ partners gathered for an evening of socializing and cultural entertainment.

The Destination Roundtable

On June 8, key stakeholders met to discuss the future of Tourism on Antigua and Barbuda. The Destination Roundtable, a new initiative introduced to Showcase Antigua and Barbuda, brought tourism stakeholders together for an interactive discussion on the future of the tourism sector on Antigua and Barbuda.

Minister of Tourism and Investment, The Honourable Charles Fernandez presented on Vision 2032, a people-centered vision crafted through investigation of the tourism product and in consultation with tourism stakeholders including industry leaders, tourism operators and the general public.

On June 9, the ABTA, ABHTA and Antigua and Barbuda tourism stakeholders had meetings with a variety of tour operators and buyers from source markets in the USA, UK, Canada, Caribbean, Latin America and the UAE.

Stakeholders left meetings highly optimistic having received positive feedback on the destination and the product.

On June 10, visiting travel partners had an opportunity to explore Antigua and Barbuda by visiting several attractions to include, The National Sailing Academy, The Great House, Cooking Lessons at Ana’s on the Beach, A tour of the Ras Freeman complex with Humble and Free Wadadli and a Day Tour of Barbuda.
