The Admiral's Inn is one of two Antigua hotels located in the historic Nelson's Dockyard. Nelson’s Dockyard is steeped in history and this historic hotel dates to 1788 when Lord Horatio Nelson was in charge of this dockyard. Like several buildings in the Dockyard, Admiral’s Inn was built using bricks brought over from England as ship's ballast.

During the time of Nelson, the building served as an engineers' workshop for the Royal Naval Yard. The ground floor was used to store pitch turpentine and lead and there were offices for the engineers of the Dockyard upstairs.

The rooms at Admirals Inn have been renovated and modern bathrooms added but the charm of this building has been maintained. Each of the 14 double rooms, have a private bathroom with shower and are furnished with either two twin beds or one queen-size double. Moderate and Superior rooms come equipped with telephones, and most have optional air-conditioning. Each room is unique in size and character, depending on its location in the historic building.

Although there is no beach on site, free transportation by boat or car is provided to Pigeon Beach or Freeman's Bay Beach.

The restaurant serves three meals daily, with locally grown vegetables and fruits and fresh fish helping to make up a fine varied menu. The charming tree-shaded terrace offers a glorious harbour view where people come from all around to relax and dine or have drinks from the cozy bar.

So many interesting places to visit nearby, the history buffs and the nautically inclined will not be bored!
