The night’s Caribbean roots spread south for Trinidadian-born Heather Headley.  The US-based R&B vocalist is best known for her soulful reflections in “This Is Who I Am,” “In My Mind, and “Wait A Minute”.  She has won one Tony Award and received two Grammy Award nominations.  In 1997, she also played Nala in The Lion King, the Broadway musical.

The uniqueness of the night’s third international performer, Musiq Soulchild, needs no deeper introduction than his name itself.  His popular “Just As Long As Your Love Don’t Change” lyrics still strike a sentimental chord among romantics.

The festival’s impressive lineup of local, regional and international talent samples a cross-section of musical genres, with one thing in common: unmistakable romance.  Visitors and locals will undoubtedly find “365 reasons to fall in love” and a yearning to “kiss and makeup” in the twin-islands of Antigua and Barbuda.

Among the impressive line up of internationally recognized artistes for the 3 concert nights are Grammy award-winning singer, Lionel Richie and prolific country music singer and actor Kenny Rogers.

Brian McKnight, Keyshia Cole, Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Destra Garcia and the Atlantik band; an exciting line-up of local performers, such as El A Kru featuring Tizzy, Taxik featuring Claudette Peters, and the Burning Flames will also perform.

Tickets for June 13 and June 14 are available at all Cable and Wireless outlets, all ABIB outlets, LIAT 1974 Ltd at Woods Centre, The Ministry of Tourism Headquarters on the Queen Elizabeth Highway, Deluxe Cinema on High Street and online at www.antiguamusicfestival.com. Tickets for June 15 are expected to go on sale shortly.

Patrons purchasing tickets early also have an opportunity to submit their names into a raffle for a chance to win numerous prizes at the concerts. Prizes include a Chevrolet Captiva SUV, a Namdar diamond engagement ring as well as ladies and gents Rado and Tissot watches.

Romantic Rhythms is sponsored by The ABI Financial Group of Companies, American Airlines, Antigua Motors and Cable and Wireless, The Antigua Hotel and Tourist Association, LIAT 1974 Ltd. Antigua Distillery Ltd., Abbott’s Jewellery, and Town House Furnishings.
